EXTERNAL PROGRAMMING PORT
The externa l progra mming port provides remote sense inputs, input volta ge monitoring, input current monitoring, externa l
trigger input, externa l trigger output, a nd a na log progra mming signa l.

1 +S Positive remote sense.
2 -S Nega tive remote sense.
3 EXT_GND Ana log Ground. Provides common (reference) connection for EXT_PRG
(PIN 4), VMON (PIN 5), a nd IMON (PIN 6). When a n externa l
progra mming function is not used, connect this point to Ana log pin 4 to
prevent EMI Noise.
4 EXT_PRG Externa l a na log progra mming input signa l. The electronic loa d ca n be
progra mmed externa lly by 0-10Volts DC or DC + AC volta ge (AC volta ge
must be bia sed to a bove 0V). When externa l a na log progra mming function
is not used, connect this point to AGND pin 3 to prevent EMI Noise.
5 VMON Input volta ge monitoring signa l. Genera tes a 0-10Volt output signa l tha t is
linearly proportional to the electronic load’s
0 to full-scale voltage .
6 IMON Input current monitoring signa l. Genera tes a 0-10Volt output signa l tha t is
linea rly proportiona l to the electronic loa d’s
0 to full-scale current .
7 NC No Connection
8 FAULT Fa ult signa l output. A TTL compa tible signa l tha t becomes a ctive (high)
when a ny of the protections a re triggered.
9 PORT Digita l port output. Port ca n be a ctiva ted via front pa nel opera tion or by
SCPI comma nd PORT 0|1 |off|on. PORT becomes a ctive (high) when the
PORT is on.
10 TRIG_IN Nega tive Edge Triggered Externa l trigger signa l input. A TTL compa tible
signa l is used to a ctiva te the electronic loa d. TRIG_IN is used to cha nge to
a preset mode or switch between settings in tra nsient mode, such a s trigger
the step mode, trigger mode, continuous mode, toggle mode, step a uto
mode, step once mode, or pulse mode.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO ENABLE THE TRIG_IN PORT FOR USE, THE
TRIGGER SOURCE MUST BE SET TO EXTERNAL.
11 TRIG_OUT Externa l trigger signa l output. A TTL compa tible signa l tha t is a ctiva ted
via the Trig-in or GPIB comma nd *TRG. This output follows the sta te of
the TRIG_IN input. Externa l trigger output is used for triggering
oscilloscopes, power supplies, or other electronic loa ds tha t ha ve externa l
trigger input.
12 EGND Ea rth Ground. Provides the common (reference) connection for TRIG_IN
(PIN 10), TRIG_OUT (PIN 11), Fa ult (PIN 8), a nd PORT (PIN 9).
