AC INPUT CORD

The AC input cord is the disconnect device for the electronic load. T he plug mus t be readily identifiable to the
operator. The input cord must be no longer than 3 m (9.84 feet).
The AC input cord we recommend is specified in Table 2.3, “AC Cord Specification”. If you require a special cord, call
our sa les representa tive.

LOAD WIRING
To select wiring for connecting the loa d to the electronic loa d, consider the following fa ctors:
•
Insula tion ra ting of the wire
•
Current ca rrying ca pa city of the wire
•
Ma ximum loa d wiring length for opera tion with sense lines
•
Noise a nd impeda nce effects of the loa d lines
CURRENT C ARRYING CAPACITY: As a minimum, loa d wiring must ha ve a current ca pa city grea ter tha n the output
current ra ting of the power supply. This ensures tha t the wiring will not be da ma ged even if the loa d is shorted. Ta ble 2.4
shows the ma ximum current rating, ba sed on 450 A/cm², f or va rious ga uges of wire ra te for 105

C operations. Opera te at
the ma ximum current ra ting re sults in a n approxima tely 30

C tempera ture rise for a wire opera ting in free a ir. Where
loa d wirin g must opera te in a rea s with elevated ambient tempera tures or b undled with other wiring, use la rger ga uges or
wiring ra ted for higher tempera ture.
