DC Bias
Description
The 4284A has in ternal dc bias v oltage selections of 0 V, 1.5 V, and
2.0 V.
When option 001 is installed, the dc bias v oltage can b e set from 0
V to 6 40 V with a resolution as listed in T able 3-4, or the DC bias
curren t can b e set from 0 A to 6 100 mA with a resolution as listed
in T able 3-4.
Note
Option 001 can b e made v alid or in v alid from the MEAS SETUP
page. When the option 001 function is used, the high p o w er mo de
m ust b e set to ON from the MEAS SETUP page. (F or more
information, refer to Chapter 4.)

Note
The setting v alue of the dc bias curren t is the v alue set when the
measuremen t con tacts (UNKNO WN T erminals) are shorted. (Refer
to Figure 3-6.) When a DUT is connected to the measuremen t
con tacts, the setting curren t v alue is dieren t from the actual curren t
through the DUT. T o determine the bias curren t through a device,
refer to BIAS CURRENT ISOLA TION FUNCTION, Chapter 4.
