Principle
The
four-terminal
pair
measuremen
t
metho d
has
the
adv
an
tage
in

low

high
imp edance
measuremen
ts.
The
outer
shield
conductors
w
ork
as
the
return
path
for
the
measuremen
t
signal
curren
t
(they
are
not
grounded).
The
same
curren
t
o
ws
through
b oth
the
cen
ter
conductors
and
outer
shield
conductors
(in
opp osite
directions),
but
no
external
magnetic
elds
are
generated
around
the
conductors
(the
magnetic
elds
pro duced
b
y
the
inner
and
outer
curren
ts
completely
cancel

other).
