Environment
The 4284A should b e stored in a clean, dry en vironmen t. The
follo wing en vironmen tal limitations apply for b oth storage and
shipmen t.
T emp erature: 020 C to 60 C
Humidity: 95% RH (at 40 C)
T o prev en t condensation from taking place on the inside of the
4284A, protect the instrumen t against temp erature extremes.

Con tainers and pac king materials iden tical to those used in
factory pac k aging are a v ailable through y our closest Agilent
T ec hnologies sales oce. If the instrumen t is b eing returned to
Agilent T ec hnologies for servicing, attac h a tag indicating the service
required, the return address, the mo del n um b er, and the full serial
n um b er. Mark the con tainer FRAGILE to help ensure careful
handling. In an y corresp ondence, refer to the instrumen t b y mo del
n um b er and its full serial n um b er.
Other P ackaging
The following general instructions should b e used when repac king
with commercially a v ailable materials:
1. W rap the 4284A in hea vy pap er or plastic. When shipping to a
Agilent T ec hnologies sales oce or service cen ter, attach a tag
indicating the service required, return address, mo del n um b er, and
the full serial n um b er.
2. Use a strong shipping con tainer. A double-w alled carton made of
at least 350 p ound test material is adequate.
3. Use enough sho c k absorbing material (3 to 4 inc h lay er) around all
sides of the instrumen t to pro vide a rm cushion and to prev en t
mov emen t inside the con tainer. Use cardb oard to protect the fron t
panel.
4. Securely seal the shipping con tainer.
5. Mark the shipping con tainer FRAGILE to help ensure careful
handling.
6. In an y corresp ondence, refer to the 4284A b y mo del n um b er and
b y its full serial n um b er.
