The

the

short

4284A
will
measure
the
short
imp edance
(inductance
and
resistance)
at
the
preset
frequency
p oints.
The
time
required
to
measure
the
short
correction
data
is
appro
ximately
90
s.
During
the
SHOR
T
correction
measure
cycle,
the
following
softkey
is
a
v
ailable.

ABORT
This
softk
ey
is
used
to
stop
the
short
correction
data
measuremen
t.
The
previous
SHOR
T
correction
data
is
still
stored.

Press

ON
to
p erform
SHOR
T
correction
calculations
on
subsequen
t
measuremen
ts
when
the
FREQ1
,
FREQ2
,
and
FREQ3
elds
are
set
to
OFF.
When
the
FREQ1
,
FREQ2
,
and
FREQ3
elds
are
set
to
ON,
and
the
test
frequency
is
equal
to
FREQ1/2/3,
the
SHOR
T
correction
data
at
FREQ1/2/3
is
used.

Description
The
4284A's
LO
AD
correction
capabilit y
corrects
for
the
other
errors

y
using
the
transmission

deriv

from
the
relationship

w
een
a
standard's
(premeasured)
reference
v
alue
to
the
actual
measuremen
t
v
alue
at
the
frequency
p oints
y
ou
sp ecify
(up
to
three
frequency
p oints).
So,
OPEN/
SHOR
T/LO
AD
corrections
can
b e
p erformed
at
the
frequency
p oints
y
ou
sp ecify
(Refer
to
Figure
4-13).
The
three
frequency
p oints
can
b e
set
in
the
FREQ1
, FREQ2
,
and
FREQ3
elds.
The
standard's
reference
v
alues
are
set
in
the
REF
A ,
and

elds.
