5.2.6 Limit Settings and Conformance Requirements
Conformance requirements for CDMA2000 TX tests are specified in 3GPP2 C.S0011,
section 4, "CDMA Transmitter Minimum Standards".
The following sections give an overview of the R&S
CMW limit settings and the related
test requirements.

5.2.6.1
Transmit Modulation Limits
A poor modulation accuracy of the MS transmitter increases the transmission errors in
the reverse channel of the CDMA2000 network. The waveform quality (Rho) is the criti-
cal quantity to assess the modulation accuracy of a CDMA2000 MS.
3GPP2 C.S0011, section 4.3.4 "Waveform Quality and Frequency Accuracy" defines
the minimum requirements for the waveform quality in terms of a scalar "waveform
quality factor", the frequency offset and the transmit time offset:
●
the waveform quality shall be better than 0.944
●
the transmit time error shall not exceed 1 μs
●
the frequency error shall not exceed 300 Hz for band class groups 450 and 800
and shall not exceed 150 Hz for band class group 1900 (see
These limits can be set in the configuration dialog (the standard values being the pre-
sets), along with limits for the other modulation characteristics. The checkboxes acti-
vate/deactivate the limit checks during measurements.
