Time Settings for Two SUU
Generally, the time settings on two or more SUU are independent from each other,
even if they are both in one CMW. The reason for this is that it shall be possible to run
each SUU with entirely different time settings.
The only way to synchronize the time settings between two SUU is to use the "Sync
Code". One SUU needs to be configured as a master, the 2nd SUU as a slave:

On the master SUU, configure Time Source to "CMW Time" or "Date/Time"
●
Switch Signal-On on master SUU, the "Sync Code" parameter will be updated.
●
On the slave SUU, configure "Time Source" to "Sync Code" and copy the value of
the master's "Sync Code".
●
Switch Signal-On on slave SUU. The time is now synchronized.

Hybrid Mode on a Single SUU
In this mode, the signaling firmware applications CDMA2000 and 1xEV-DO run in par-
allel on the same SUU (in particular they run on the same R&S
CMW).
Prerequisites
The minimum hardware and software configuration for hybrid mode with a single SUU
is a single CMW equipped with

Extra RF converter module (R&S CMW-B570B)
●
SUU Module (R&S CMW-B200A) equipped with
–
CDMA2000 signaling extension module (R&S CMW-B220A) and
–
1xEV-DO signaling extension module (R&S CMW-B230A)
●
software option CDMA2000
®
1xRTT signaling (R&S CMW-KS800)
●
software option CDMA2000
®
1xEV-DO signaling KS880 (R&S CMW-KS880)
●
software option CDMA2000
®
hybrid mode (R&S CMW-KS888)
Limitations
All available functionality is supported in both signaling applications.
In hybrid mode, 1xEV-DO only supports Rev. 0/A. If Rev. B is required to run in hybrid
mode, the dual SUU setup has to be chosen.
Setup Procedure
1. Select scenario hybrid mode in both CDMA2000 and 1xEV-DO
2. Configure both FWAs on different RF converters (e.g. CDMA2000 Sig on RF1
COM and 1xEV-DO Sig on RF3 COM); use an external combiner to connect the
DUT to the configured RF connectors (e.g. RF1 COM and RF3 COM)
3. Configure both signaling FWAs to the required RF frequencies and band classes
