Differences in Available Functions
Depending on the CPU Unit (NJ or
CJ Series)

Some of the specifications when a Serial Communications Unit is connected to a CJ-series CPU Unit
are different from the specifications when the Serial Communications Unit is connected to an NJ-series
CPU Unit. A list of these differences is provided below.

There are differences in function support, function names, and specifications between when a Serial
Communications Unit is connected to a CJ-series CPU Unit and when the Serial Communications Unit
is connected to an NJ-series CPU Unit.

The following function cannot be used when the Serial Communications Unit is connected to an NJ-
series CPU Unit.

Interrupt notification

The names of the following functions are different between when a Serial Communications Unit is con-
nected to a CJ-series CPU Unit and when the Serial Communications Unit is connected to an NJ-series
CPU Unit. The corresponding names are listed in the following table.

* An NJ-series CPU Unit with unit version 1.03 or later and Sysmac Studio version 1.04 or higher are required.

The following specification is different between when a Serial Communications Unit is connected to a
CJ-series CPU Unit and when the Serial Communications Unit is connected to an NJ-series CPU Unit.
Be sure to use this function in the correct operating mode for your CPU Unit.
