harvesting is made without paying attention to the
feeding procedure, you might obtain bales of
conical shape or “barrel” shape.
In case of short or fragile materials, it’s opportune
to work in any case as showed in the paragraph
talking about the narrow windrow. The collected
product will consequently fill uniformly the
chamber of the round baler.
Feeding with narrow windrow
In case of narrow windrow it’s necessary to feed
the round baler sideway, not centrally, in order to
obtain a bale of cylindrical shape and not of
“barrel” shape. In order to obtain this, the operator
must ride alternatively 7÷12 mt on the right side
and move on the left side for the same distance.
Feeding must grant an uniform distribution of the
product on the whole chamber length.
Feeding with wide windrow
In case of windrows having such a width to
occupy the whole extension of the pick-up, it is
necessary to proceed keeping a straight way till
both cochleas are occupied by the entering
material.
Instead, if the windrow has such a width not to
effect the sideway cochlea,
then it’s necessary to
proceed to move right and left sideway as
indicated in the paragraph above.
4.6 BALE FORMATION
Material entering from the pick-up is pushed by
the rotor inside the chamber. In the round baler
DIAVEL CUT, the rotor can cut the material
making it passing through the cutting knives.
Cutting knives are equipped with a protection
which allows the knives reset in case of hit with
foreign bodies
(such as rocks, branches, etc…).
Inside the chamber, the material starts rotation
thanks to the round baler rollers.
The operator can select three levels of bale
pressing and control on the manometer on board
of the machine the pressure created by the
hydraulic cylinders.
Pressure on the material will be zero value till
reaching the chamber diameter, to grow then till
the value set.
4.7 BINDING
Binding is a fundamental phase for the outcome
of a bale of quality, the external consistency of the
bale depends first of all on the quality of the
binding.
DIAVEL 630, DIAVEL 630 CUT can bind the bale
both by net or twine.
The net binding allows to maintain the shape of
the bale by a net which wraps it completely, the
net gets strained by the entire bale width and
wrapped on it with several laps.
For short and cut products we always suggest the
net binding to avoid product dispersion.
To arrange a good net binding, we suggest to
wrap the bale with at least 2.5 laps of net.

After wrapping the bale with a defined
numbers of net laps, the net get cut by a
knife mounted on a guillotine system.

The twine binding maintain the shape of the
bale wrapping it with a twine forming like a
spiral around it, at the bale sides the twine
get rolled more times maintaining a distance
from the border that can be set from the
operator. At the end of binding, twines will be
cut by the appropriate knives. Parameters
set for twine binding are the following:


For the twine binding we suggest the following
types of twine:

Sisal (vegetable) 200/400 m/kg

Synthetic 500/700 m/kg
