Controllo usura e
sostituzione pastiglie
freno
Attenzione
Il liquido impiegato nell’impianto
frenante, oltre a danneggiare la
vernice, è dannosissimo a contatto
degli occhi o della pelle; in caso di
accidentale contatto lavare quindi
abbondantemente con acqua corrente
la parte interessata.
Importante
Alla consegna del motoveicolo,
dopo la sostituzione delle pastiglie,
informare il Cliente che per almeno
100 Km dovrà utilizzare il freno
anteriore con cautela, al fine di
consentire un corretto e completo
assestamento dei materiali d'attrito.
Controllo usura pastiglie freno
anteriore
Rimuovere le pinze freno anteriori
dalla forcella svitando le viti (1).
Controllare che risulti visibile il
solco (A) ricavato sulla superficie
di attrito delle pastiglie (4).
Importante
Se anche una sola delle
pastiglie risulta consumata sarà
necessario sostituirle entrambe.
Procedere alla sostituzione delle
pastiglie nel seguente modo.
Rimuovere la copiglia di sicurezza (2),
dal perno tenuta pastiglie.
Spingere i pistoncini della pinza
completamente dentro ai propri
alloggiamenti, divaricando le pastiglie
usate.
Sfilare il perno (3) di tenuta pastiglie
verso l’esterno.
Sfilare le pastiglie usurate (4),
sganciandole dalla molla (5).
Note
Sostituire le pastiglie che
presentano un aspetto lucido o
“vetroso”.
Inserire le pastiglie nuove e relative
molle (5) e (6). Infilare il perno di
tenuta pastiglie (3) e bloccarlo con
la copiglia di sicurezza (2).
Azionare ripetutamente la leva del
freno per permettere l’assestamento
delle pastiglie sotto l’azione di spinta
del liquido freni.
Verificare che il livello nel serbatoio
della pompa non sia al di sotto della
tacca di MIN. In caso contrario
provvedere al rabbocco procedendo
come segue. Ruotare il semimanubrio
per livellare il serbatoio.
Checking brake pad wear
and changing brake pads
Warning
Brake fluid will damage painted
surfaces if spilled on them. It can
also be very harmful if it comes into
contact with the skin or with the
eyes; in the event of accidental
contact, wash the affected area
with abundant running water.
Important
When the motorcycle is
consigned to the customer after
changing the brake pads, inform the
customer that the brake must be
used gently for the first 100 km to
allow the pads to bed in completely.
Checking front brake pad wear.
Remove the bolts (1) and remove the
front brake calipers from the forks.
Check that the wear indicator
groove (A) in the friction material
of the pads (4) is visible.
Important
If either of the pads is worn,
both pads must be renewed as a set.
Change the brake pads as follows.
Remove the cotter pin (2) from the
pad retaining pin.
Force the caliper pistons back into
their bores by forcing the old brake
pads apart.
Withdraw the brake pad retaining pin
(3) from the outside.
Withdraw the old brake pads (4),
detaching them from the anti-rattle
springs (5).
Notes
Change pads that have a shiny
or “vitrified” appearance.
Insert the new pads and fit the
springs (5) and (6). Slide in the pad
retaining pin (3) and secure it in
position with the cotter pin (2).
Operate the brake lever repeatedly so
that the pads are firmly bedded in
against the disc by the force of the
brake fluid.
Check that the brake fluid level in the
master cylinder reservoir is above the
MIN mark. If necessary, top up as
follows. Turn the handlebar so that
the reservoir is level.
