Revisione cerchio, raggi e
nippli ruota anteriore
Effettuare un controllo visivo per
verificare che non siano presenti
particolari danneggiati: una volta
accertata l'integrità dei componenti
procedere con i controlli delle coppie
nippli e degli sbandamenti, assiale e
radiale, come descritto di seguito.
In presenza di deformazioni
localizzate del cerchio procedere alla
sostituzione dello stesso.
Se si riscontrano raggi rotti procedere
alla loro sostituzione come di seguito
descritto: nel caso di rottura di tre o
più raggi contemporaneamente è
necessario il controllo di tutti i raggi:
questo è necessario poichè un
numero così elevato di raggi rotti,
in assenza di eventi critici, può
significare che i particolari sono
difettosi e/o l'assemblaggio/
manutenzione non sono corretti.
Controllare che non vi siano raggi
che emettano un suono cupo alla
percussione con un oggetto metallico:
questo può significare che sono
presenti raggi allentati che hanno
lavorato a lungo con assenza di
precarico: è necessario controllare
l'integrità dell'accoppiamento filettato
con il nipplo e della sede di ancoraggio
nel mozzo della testa del raggio.
Controllo della coppia minima di
serraggio nippli
L'operazione può essere effettuata
anche con la ruota montata sul
motoveicolo, sollevandola da terra e
verificandone la libera rotazione.
Partendo dal foro valvola preso come
riferimento, indifferentemente in
senso orario o antiorario, controllare
la coppia minima di serraggio di tutti
i nippli (11) in successione e con
un'unica tornata fermandosi al
raggiungimento del foro valvola:
la coppia minima deve essere
4 Nm.
La chiave da utilizzare è l'attrezzo (A)
cod.
88713.2776 .
Controllare che non vi siano raggi (10)
che emettano un suono cupo alla
percussione con un oggetto metallico:
questo per evitare che grippaggi o
ossidazione nell'accoppiamento tra
raggi e nippli annullino l'azione della
coppia applicata; in caso contrario
ripristinare il corretto accoppiamento
facendo attenzione a non utilizzare
prodotti aggressivi per la fascia e
la camera d'aria.
Overhauling the front wheel
rim, spokes and nipples
Visually inspect the wheel for
damaged components: if the wheel
components are found to be in good
condition, proceed to check the
spokes and nipples and the axial and
radial runout as described below.
If the wheel rim has any localised
buckling or kinks, then it must be
renewed
Broken spokes should be renewed as
follows: if three or more spokes are
found to be broken, all the spokes
should be checked: in the absence of
an obvious cause such as a strong
impact, such a high number of broken
spokes indicates that the parts could
be defective and/or incorrectly fitted
and/or incorrectly adjusted.
Tap the spokes with a metal tool,
checking for any that produce a dull,
flat sound rather than a sharp ping:
this could indicate a loose spoke that
may have been working for some
time without being properly
tensioned: check the condition of the
threaded joint between the spoke and
the nipple and that the head of the
spoke is correctly seated on the hub.
Checking the tightening torque of
the spoke nipples
This operation may also be carried
out with the wheel fitted to the
motorcycle, provided the wheel is
raised clear of the ground so that it is
free to rotate.
Starting from the valve, work
around the wheel (in either direction)
checking the tightening torque of all
the nipples (11) in turn until you get
back to the valve. the minimum
tightening torque is
4 Nm. Use the
spoke key (A) part no. 88713.2776 .
Tap the spokes (10) with a metal tool,
checking for any that produce a dull,
flat sound rather than a sharp ping:
this to check that there are no seized
or corroded nipples that could nullify
the action of the tightening torque;
renew any such nipples and spokes
as necessary, taking care to eliminate
any sharp or protruding parts that
could penetrate the spoke cover tape
and puncture the inner tube.
