If the tension value is incorrect,
tighten or slacken the belt by
loosening the screws (24) and (25)
and moving the tensioner pulleys.
Manually raise the tensioner
pulley (26) to increase belt tension
or lower it to reduce belt tension.
Notes
If the engine as been removed
from the frame, adjust the screw (24)
using the special tool (27), positioning
the contact point (U) of the tool on the
tensioner.
Important
Rotate the contact point (U)
anti-clockwise to increase belt
tension or clockwise to reduce it.
Tighten the screws (24) and (25).
Re-check the belt tension.
Repeat the above procedure until the
correct belt tension is obtained.
Once the correct belt tension value
has been obtained, tighten the
screws (24) and (25) to the specified
torque (Sect. C 3).
Position the crankshaft so that the
piston of the vertical cylinder is at TDC
of the power stroke (valve closed)
and repeat the procedure used for
the horizontal cylinder, measuring
the tension on section (22) of the
vertical cylinder timing belt.
Remove the belt tension sensor and
disconnect the DDS tester from the
motorcycle.
Warning
Whenever you tension the
belts, it is good practice to also check
the timing (Sect. N 4 1).

Se il valore della tensione non è
corretto, tendere o allentare la
cinghia, operando sulle viti (24) e (25)
di fissaggio dei tenditori mobili.
Manualmente alzare il tenditore
mobile (26) per tendere la cinghia,
viceversa abbassare il tenditore
mobile (26) per allentare la cinghia.
Note
Se il blocco motore è stato
rimosso dal telaio operare sulla
vite (24) con l'apposito attrezzo (27)
posizionando lo spintore (U)
dell'attrezzo sul tenditore.
Importante
Ruotare lo spintore (U) in senso
antiorario per tendere la cinghia,
mentre ruotarlo in senso orario per
allentare la cinghia.
Serrare la vite (24) e la vite (25).
Rilevare nuovamente il valore di
tensione della cinghia distribuzione.
Ripetere l'operazione fino al
raggiungimento della tensione
prescritta.
Una volta raggiunto il valore di
tensione prescritto, serrare le viti (24)
e (25) alla coppia prescritta (Sez. C 3).
Posizionare l'albero motore al punto
morto superiore, in fase di scoppio
(valvola chiusa) del cilindro verticale e
ripetere la stessa procedura usata per
il cilindro orizzontale, misurando la
tensione sul ramo (22) della cinghia
verticale.
Scollegare il sensore tensione cinghie
e lo strumento di diagnosi DDS dal
motoveicolo.
Attenzione
Ogni volta che si effettua il
tensionamento cinghie è buona
norma verificare la fase (Sez. N 4.1).
