Cuscinetti ruota
Prima di effettuare controlli
dimensionali è necessario assicurarsi
dello stato di usura dei cuscinetti del
mozzo ruota; questa verifica deve
essere fatta manualmente dopo aver
pulito e sgrassato il cuscinetto nella
relativa sede.
Ruotare l'anello interno.
Verificare l'entità del gioco radiale e
assiale; un gioco eccessivo può
essere causa di vibrazioni e instabilità
del mezzo ed è necessario procedere
alla sostituzione.
Per la rimozione dei cuscinetti (4) e
degli anelli di tenuta (9) dal mozzo
ruota seguire quanto riportato di
seguito.
Posizionare un perno (A) sull'anello
interno del cuscinetto (4).
Battere con un martello fino ad
estrarre il cuscinetto (4) e l’anello
di tenuta (9).
Spostare continuamente il punto
di pressione in modo da ottenere
un'estrazione il più possibile lineare.
Importante
I cuscinetti e gli anelli di tenuta
rimossi non devono essere rimontati.
Prima di procedere con il rimontaggio
dei cuscinetti assicurarsi che la sede
sia pulita ed esente da solchi e
graffiature.
Lubrificare la sede prima di rimontare
il cuscinetto, quindi inserirlo nella
sede.
Utilizzare un tampone tubolare (B) con
il quale fare pressione solo sull'anello
esterno del cuscinetto (4) fino alla sua
completa introduzione in sede.
Eseguire la stessa operazione per
introdurre gli anelli di tenuta (9).
Fare attenzione che tra i due
cuscinetti del mozzo ruota sia stato
inserito il distanziale (3).
Note
Dopo ogni intervento sulla ruota
è consigliabile provvedere alla sua
equilibratura.
Revisione perno ruota anteriore
Verificare l'entità della distorsione del
perno ruota.
Ruotare su di un piano di riscontro
il perno e controllare con uno
spessimetro il valore massimo della
distorsione (vedere Sez. C 1.1).
Overhauling the front
wheel
Wheel bearings
Before checking the dimensions,
check the wear on wheel bearings.
Check for wear by hand after cleaning
and degreasing the bearings in their
seats.
Turn the inner race.
Check the amount of radial and axial
play. Excessive play will cause
vibration and make the bike unstable;
in this case the bearings must be
renewed.
To remove the bearings (4) and the
oil seals (9) from the wheel hub,
proceed as follows.
Position a drift (A) against the inner
race of the bearing (4).
Tap with a hammer to drive out the
bearing (4) and the oil seal (9).
Apply the drift at different points to
keep the bearing square during
removal.
Important
Once removed, the used
bearings and the oil seals must not be
refitted.
Before fitting new bearings, check
that the housing is clean and free
from scoring and damage.
Grease the bearing seat and then
push the new bearing into its seat.
Using a tubular drift (B) that only
bears on the outer race of the
bearing, drive the bearing (4) fully into
its seat.
Use the same method to install the oil
seals (9).
Ensure that spacer (3) is fitted
between the two wheel bearings.
Notes
Wheels must be rebalanced
after repair, maintenance and
overhaul operations.
Overhauling the front wheel
axle
Check the wheel axle for
straightness.
Roll the shaft on a flat reference
surface and measure maximum
runout using a feeler gauge
(see Sect. C 1.1).
