Keys and Doors 1-15
Access Function
— Lock and unlock
the doors. Refer
to ―the front car door‖
section for details.
Start-up Function
— the smart key
inside the car can switch power mode
and start the engine. Refer to ―How to
start the engine‖ section for details.
Steering Locking Function
When you use the wireless remote
control or micro switch to lock the
doors, the steering wheel will be
locked.
Press the ―Start/Stop‖ button to unlock
the steering. If the green indicator on
the ―Start/Stop‖ button blinks, it
indicates that the steering function is
locked. To unlock it, please slightly
turn the steering wheel slightly while
pressing the ―Start/Stop‖ button. If the
orange indicator still blinks, it
indicates there is a fault with the
steering function. Please contact BYD
authorized service station for a car
examination. Refer to
―Start the
Engine
‖ section for details.
Antenna Position
1. Antenna located inside the car.
2. Antenna located outside the car.
Activation zone
When a registered the smart key
enters the activation zone, the access
function and startup function will be
activated.
Access function activation
zone
–within 1m from the handle micro
switch of the front outside car door. If
the electronic smart key is too close to
the car door handle or window, it
might not activate the access function.
In the following cases, smart entry
and smart start systems may not work
properly:
 When there is equipment that
emits strong electromagnetic
waves, such as a television
tower, power station or
broadcast stations.

When the smart key is carried
together with certain
communication devices, such as
two-way radio communication
devices or mobile phones.

The smart key is contacted or
covered by metal objects.
 The door handle is operated
