Maintenance7-9 

Lower level of the power steering oil 
indicates that the system may have 
an oil leakage. Therefore, the oil level 
shall be frequently checked and the 
system shall be checked as soon as 
possible. 

NOTICE

 

 

Please only use the Mobil ATF 
DEXRON®-III transmission fluid 
or the AFT transmission fluid 
conforming to DEXRON-III 
standard as the power steering 
fluid. Otherwise, the power 
steering system might be 
damaged if other type of power 
steering fluid is used.   

 

Please add the power steering 
fluid slowly and carefully to 
avoid overflowing. Remove the 
spilled oil immediately. Spilled oil 
may cause damage to the parts 
in the engine compartment. 

 

If you have no idea of how to 
check the oil level and refuel the 
oil, please contact BYD 
authorized service station. 

Fuel Filter 

 

Fuel filter shall be replaced 

according to the driving time and 
mileage listed in the regular 
maintenance schedule. 

If the fuel is found polluted, it is 

recommended to replace the fuel filter 
every 10,000 km or every 6 months as 
the filter might soon be clogged. 

Replace the fuel filter in BYD 

authorized service station. Because 
there is pressure inside the fuel 
system, the fuel may spill out and 
severe consequences may be 
brought about if some oil pipelines are 
not properly treated. 

The filter shall be replaced earlier 

if you have used more than one barrel 
of unpurified fuel oil. 

If the filter is clogged by dirt, 

please contact BYD authorized 
service station to check or replace the 
filter. 

Air Filter 

Air filter cartridge shall be 

cleaned or replaced according to the 
driving time and mileage listed in the 
regular maintenance schedule. 

Air filter element is installed in the 

driver-side air filter tank in the engine 
compartment. 

Cleaning of the air filter:   

Air filter element can be cleaned 

by blowing compressed air into the air 
filter element in the direction usually 
opposite to that of air admission. 

If compressed air is not available, 

please contact BYD authorized 
service station for treatment. 

Disassembly and reassembly 

shall be performed in accordance with 
the replacement procedures. 

Replacement

 

1. Release the two circlips to remove 
the air filter tank cover. 

2. Remove the old air filter cartridge.
