Corrosion Protection of BYD
Suri
Correct maintenance of the car can
avoid it being corroded for a long
term.
Common causes for car corrosion:
● The parts under the car which are
hard to reach are full of salt and alkali,
dust and moisture.
● The painting layer or base layer is
scarified because of slight crash or by
stone or gravel.
It is very important to take care
when living in special places or
driving in unusual environments:
● Salt and alkali or dust containing
chemical substance on the road will
cause quick corrosion of car, air in
coastal places or area with industrial
pollution contains salt as well.
● High humidity will cause quick
corrosion of car, especially in
occasions when the temperature is
just above 0°.
● If certain parts of the car are wet or
humid for a long time, corrosion will
also be resulted in even if other parts
are dry.
● High room temperature will cause
corrosion of car parts as they are
unable to get dry due to lacking of
proper ventilation.
The above contents are the evidence
proving that it is very important to
keep the car (especially the bottom of
the car) clean, and repairing the
damaged painting layer and
protection layer as soon as possible.
Observe the following rules in
order to avoid corrosion of BYD
Suri:
Wash the car frequently.
It is certainly that washing the car
regularly can keep it clean, while the
following tips should also be complied
with in order to avoid car from
corroding:
● if you drive the car on the road with
salt and alkali in winter or park it near
the sea, then the running parts should
be washed at least once every month
in order to decrease corrosion.
● It is very effective to wash the
vehicle chassis and wheel cowling
with high pressure or steam. As the
mud and dirt at these places are hard
to see clearly, it is necessary to pay
special attention. Just moistening the
mud and dirt instead of clearing them
away will cause more serious
damages. Don‘t let dust block the
lower edge of the door, rocker panel
and drain holes in each part of the car
rocker panel, or the water in these
places will lead to car corrosion.
● Wash the vehicle chassis
completely after winter.

Check the paint and trims of car
body.
If any debris or crack is found on the
painting layer, repair them timely in
order to avoid corroding therefrom. If
the debris or crack falls off the metal
surface, repair them in the BYD
authorized service station.
