Maintenance7-10 

 

3. Carefully wipe the interior of the air 
filter tank with wet cloth. 

4. Install a new air filter cartridge in 
the air filter tank. 

5. Reinstall the air filter tank cover and 
tighten two circlips.   

 

Lock Catch of the Engine 
Hood 

 

Lock catch assembly of the engine 
hood can be cleaned by mild 
detergent and then can be coated 
with multi-purpose lubricating oil.   

All the operating parts (as shown) 
including the pivot shall be coated 
with lubricating oil.   

If you are not sure how to clean the 
clock catch and apply the lubricating 
oil, please contact your BYD 
authorized service station.   

 

Storage Battery   

Storage battery of the car shall be 
monthly checked. The color of the 
indicator hole and the corrosion 
degree of the terminal shall also be 
examined.   

WARNING

 

 

Storage battery may produce 
explosive hydrogen during 
normal operation. Sparks or 
flames can cause storage 
battery to explode, explosive 
power of which is strong enough 
to cause serious injury or even 
death.   

 

Sparks, flames and 
combustibles must be kept away 
from the storage battery.   

 

For storage battery 
maintenance, you must wear 
protective clothes and the mask 
or invite skilled technicians for 
operation.   

 

Storage battery contains highly 
corrosive and virulent sulfuric 
acid (electrolyte). If electrolyte is 
splashed into the eye or on the
