Driving Tips of BYD Suri2-5
The upper and lower limits on the oil
dipstick for engine BYD473QE are
two raised lines marks with ―F‖ and ―L‖
respectively, and the oil level shall lies
between the upper and lower limits.
2. Wipe up the oil dipstick with clean
cloth or tissue.
3. Insert the oil dipstick back to the
pipe shroud completely.
4. Take out the oil dipstick again to
check the oil level. The oil level shall
lies between the upper and lower
limits, and if the oil level is close to or
lower than the lower limit, please refer
to the section in which how to refuel
engine oil is described.
Checking the engine coolant
Check the engine coolant level in the
radiator liquid storage tank whether it
lies between the upper limit (MAX)
and the lower limit (MIN). If the
coolant level is lower than the lower
limit, please refer to the section in
which how to properly add engine
coolant is described.

―User Maintenance Checks‖.
Fuel Conservation
Smooth driving contributes to fuel
conservation. Snap acceleration,
sharp turn and slamming on the brake
will consume more fuel.
Try to drive at the highest gear, which
can contribute to smoother engine
running and acceleration.
Try to drive at constant speed
according to traffic condition. Every
deceleration or acceleration of the
vehicle would require additional fuel
consumption.
Constant speed cruise control (if any)
can help save more fuel in proper
driving conditions.
The engine will consume more fuel
when it is in cold state rather than in
hot state but it is unnecessary to run
the engine in an idle way for a long
time for the purpose of preheating.
The vehicle can be driven away one
minute after the engine is started no
matter how cold it is outside. In this
way, the engine would be heated up in
a shorter time, thus saving more fuel.
Try to arrange shorter journeys
together so as to reduce the
frequency of ―cold starting‖.
If the air conditioner is switched on,
extra load would be increased to the
engine, thus consuming more fuel.
Turn off the air conditioner to reduce
fuel consumption. When the
atmospheric temperature outside the
vehicle is suitable, outdoor circulation
mode shall be used for air supply.
