Power Steering
The V erado four-stroke engine option uses an encl osed
hydraulic pump unit. The pump is elect rica lly operated to
provide hydraulic pressure to the steering system.
The pump is loca ted in the aft portside of the bilge and
ca n be acce
ssed by lifting the eq uipment hatch in the aft
co ckp it deck.
F illing
The system is virtually maintenanc e free, aside from
regular uid checks and visually inspecting the outside
of the unit for signs of leaks or damage.
Remove the pump co ver by pulling up and out on the
locki
ng tabs on the sides of the unit.
nscrew the cap and check the uid level in the
reservoir, fill NLY with Mercury Marine SAE W
F ull S ynthetic P ower S teering F luid if nece ssary.
Replace ca p and co ver
Check the uid level before each trip.
Ensure that cover is p rop erly seated to p revent
intrusion of water into the p ump enclosure.
