O p erating T he Windlass Manually
In the event that there is a loss of power to the windlass,
the anch or ca n be raised and/ or lowered manually by
using the emergency handle loca ted in the anch or locke
r.
There are two star socke ts on the top of the windlass
used for manual deployment of the anch or. Inserting the
emergency handle into the ce nter socke
t and turning
it co unter-cl ockw ise will loosen the anch or windlass
ch ainwheel. The star socke t loca ted off-ce nter is used
for retrieving and lowering the anch or.
Turning the handle co untercl ock wise will allow you to
lower the anch or.
Turning the handle cl ockw ise will raise it.
When op eration is comp lete, insert the handle into
the center star socket and tighten the windlass
chainwheel b y rotating the handle clockwise. Be
sure to attach the safety lanyard when the anchor
is stowed in the anchor davit.
