Maintenance
The ch arger is fully automatic and req uires no
maintenance . H owever, the battery terminals should be
cl eaned periodica lly with baki ng soda and all co nnect ions
tightened to provide trouble free operation.
O verload Protection
If an elect rica l short or overload occu rs in the elect rica l
system the ch arger will reduce its output voltage to avoid
internal damage. When an elect rica l short occu
rs, the
red L E D on the front panel of the unit will be illuminated.
The overload or short must be removed in order for the
ch arger to resume ch arging ch aract eristics.
Battery Switches
This boat uses battery switch es ( one for each engine) to
co ntrol delivery of D C power from the batteries. These
battery switch es are advance d elect ric relay switch es
loca ted on the forward port bulkh ead in the bilge above
the battery bank and are act uated via a rocke
r switch on
the D C distribution panel. The D C distribution panel is
loca ted behind an acce
ss door on the starboard gunwale
opposite the co ntrol station.
When the engines are shut down or not providing a
ch arge, the boat’ s systems will draw power from the
ce nter battery. This will allow you to run all the boat’ s
funct ions without affect ing the port or starboard batteries.
Remote Battery Switches
E ach battery switch on the panel is wired to a remote
switch loca ted above the battery bank in the bilge.
