Section 6 Maintenance
Before you fill the freshwater system, it is vital that it be
properly disinfected.
The following procedure is recommended to disinfect the
freshwater system:
lush the entire system thoroughly by allowing potable
water to ow through it.
Drain the system completely.
ill the entire system with an approved disinfecting
solution and follow the method prescribed by the
manufacturer.
After disinfecting, drain the entire system.
lush the entire system thoroughly several more
times with potable water.
Now the system is ready for use fill with potable
water.
This should be done annually or before using the system
if it has been laid up for an e tended amount of time.
As a precaution against accidental ooding, remove the
hose when leaving the boat for an e tended period of
time.
Water H eater
Make sure the fresh water tank is full b efore
op erating the water heater. O p erating the water
heater emp ty will cause damage to the system.
H ydrogen gas may form in the tank if the system
has not b een used for more than two weeks.
O NOT smoke or have any ame near an open
faucet.
