Section 3 F uel System

Contaminated Gasoline

Water from co ndensation and sediment from
co ntaminated gasoline ca n co llect in the fuel tank.

Contaminated gasoline ca n damage boat fuel system

components, corrode fuel tanks, clog fuel filters, and

damage the engines’ fuel systems.

uel filter inspection and servicing routine is directly

related to the q uality and q uantity of gasoline that you
take on-board. As a preca ution, it is advisable to ca rry

e tra on engine filters.

It is best to maintain a full tank of fuel between missions.

This will reduce air ow in and out of the tank due to

ch anges in temperature as well as limiting exposure of
the ethanol in the fuel to humidity and co ndensation.
