WARNING
Bow T hruster Batteries
There are battery trays for the two ( 2 ) batteries which
provide the 2 4 volts nece ssary to operate the bow
thruster, along with a battery switch , loca ted under the
bunk in the forward ca bin. Acce
ss to the bow thruster,
batteries and battery ch arger ca n be made through the
forward hatch under the bunk cu shions. The battery
switch ca n be found under the aft hatch of the bunk.

will result in an increased and dangerous p resence
of b attery discharge gases accumulating in the
forward cab in.
Bow T hruster Battery Maintenance
B efore use, ch eck each battery and the ch arging system
for loose co nnect ions or wiring. Normal maintenance
should incl ude:
Coat the terminals with dielect ric grease
K eep the batteries dry
Remove the batteries from the boat during co ld
weather or long term storage.
The most life shortening experience for a battery is to
be drained to ze ro ch arge before rech arging. When a
battery disch arges, the act ive material on both positive
and negative plates co nverts to lead sulfate, ca using the
plates to beco me more alike in an elect rica l ch arge. The
elect rici ty co nduct ing battery aci d beco mes weake r and
the voltage drops. As the battery remains disch arged, the
proce ss co ntinues until rech arging the battery beco mes
impossible.
