Power Supply of the Outputs
For power supply to the outputs, four red clamps are available in the area
labeled "actuator connections" in Fig. 15-14. Each set of 2 clamps is
assigned for the power supply to 8 outputs. The left clamp in each pair
connects the 24 V input voltage, and the right clamp is connected to the
outputs.
As already mentioned, the outputs can be supplied either via the unit
supply of the input/output module or via an external power source.

Options
If the outputs are to be supplied via the unit supply to the input/output
module, the left clamp (24 V) must be bridged with the right clamp
(connection to the outputs).
Note:
At the factory, the bridges between the two clamps for both
output groups (1 group = 8 outputs) are placed.
The connection of an external power supply must be wired via the correct
supply clamp. Make sure that the output voltage can also flow in reverse
to the power supply. To ensure that this is possible, an external
connection between the 0 V potential of the input/output module (blue
clamp) and the 0 V potential of the external power supply must be
established.
Note:
The entire load voltage flows across the connection between
the 0 V potential of the input/output module and the 0 V
potential of the external power supply. Because a connector
clamp is approved for a maximum of 6 A load in the field, the
0 V potentials of the power supply units must be combined and
wired to the 0 V unit supply clamp.
Output Signals
The actuator connection clamps are labeled as "actuator connections" in
Fig. 15-14. For each of the 16 actuators that can be connected, two
clamps are available. The connectors for an actuator are arranged
vertically. (Example: Clamps 14 and 46 form the group for connecting one
actuator.)
