SELF-DIAGNOSIS FAULT CODE INDICATION
When a system malfunction occurs, the immobilizer system indicator light flashes. The pattern of flash-
ing also shows the fault code.
Fault code Part Symptom Cause Action
51 IMMOBILIZER
UNIT Code cannot be trans-
mitted between the
key and the immobiliz-
er unit. 1. Radio wave interfer-
ence caused by ob-
jects around the keys
and antennas.
2. Immobilizer unit mal-
function.
3. Key malfunction.
1. Keep magnets,
metal objects, and
other immobilizer
system keys away
from the keys and
antennas.
2. Replace the main
switch/immobiliz-
er unit.
3. Replace the key.

UNIT Codes between the
key and immobilizer
unit do not match. 1. Signal received from
other transponder
(failed to recognize
code after ten consecu-
tive attempts).
2. Signal received from
unregistered standard
key.

other vehicles.
2. Register the stan-
dard key.
