Avoid contact with the fertiliser and other materials
You are likely to come in contact with the fertiliser or other materials
that you want to spread while filling, adjusting and testing the
spreader. Wear protective clothing and safety gloves, read the safety
instructions provided by the supplier and follow their directions.
Contact with these materials could cause physical injury.
Be careful that nothing gets jammed
It is easy to get jammed in while adjusting and checking the spreader.
Work safely while checking and adjusting by:
•
switching off the electronic control system,
•
switching the tractor off and removing the key from the ignition,
•
engaging the parking brake of the tractor,
•
waiting for all machine parts to come to a standstill before starting
with the adjustments,
•
wearing protective clothing, such as safety gloves and shoes,
•
in order to perform only the described action carefully.
Being jammed in could cause physical injury.
If the form of the spreading pattern is not the same on the left and on
the right spreading disc and the difference in the application rate is
more than 3%, it could be caused by a difference in position of the
discharge point with regards to the spreading disc between the left
and right sides. The distance between the inside of the rope and the
opening of the discharge bushing must be 109 mm.
Place the machine on the ground or on firm supports on a firm,
level ground.
Perform the first checks as described in
section »Check the settings of the dosing mechanism« on page
192.
Switch the electronic control system and the tractor off, remove the
key from the ignition and engage the parking brake of the tractor.
Set the lever with which the discharge point is set for the arrow on
the lever to point to
Q
.
Attach the rope as per the illustration.
Measure the distance between the inside of the rope and the
opening of the discharge bushing carefully.
If the measured distance is more or less than 109 mm, do the
following:
Remove the dashboard by loosening the 3 fastening buttons.
Turn the top nuts on the 4 fastening bolts to which the dosing
mechanism is attached to the hopper a few times to loosen them.
Turn the dosing mechanism until the distance between the inside
of the rope and the opening of the discharge bushing is 109 mm.
Check the position of the dosing mechanism with regards to the
agitator axle (see the previous section). The distance between the
agitator axle and the sealing ring must be the same on all sides.
Fasten the nuts on the 4 fastening bolts again without moving the
dosing plates again.
Reattach the dashboard with the 3 fastening buttons.
