Activities before spreading

Setting the fine application
directly without calculations
In the event that
fine application kit
is indicated under the heading in
the spreading chart:
yes
, the dosing setting does not need to be
calculated.
The given value is determined while the spreader was being set
for fine application.
If the selected application rate is not given in the spreading chart book,
use the settings that are the closest to the selected application rate.
If the selected driving speed is not given, use the settings closest to
the selected driving speed.
Manually entered application
rate
If you
•
spread less than 25 kg/ha,
•
types to be spread with the hopper hardy filled e.g. slug pellets or
seeds),
•
spreading on very uneven sites (e.g. frozen soil),
the control system cannot perform an automatic calibration test. The
distributed weight per minute is too little. The control system cannot
use this value to correct the dosing setting. In such an event a manual
calibration test should be performed in order to determine the correct
dosing setting.
See also section »Automatic calibration limit« on page 84
and»Switching off the automatic calibration« on page 124.
If you want to spread a lower application rate whereby the flow rate is
lower than 40 kg/min, the machine is to be set as with fine application.
See section »Discharge point« on page 110.
If you want to spread a higher application rate ( > 40 kg/min) on a very
uneven site the machine is to be set as with normal dosing.
See section »Constant application rate« on page 112.
You will have to determine the correct dosing setting with the selected
application rate and driving speed yourself, however. As automatic
calibration is switched off the control system cannot check and adjust
the flow rate if the actual application rate with a specific dosing setting
is not similar to the expected application rate.
The control system will nevertheless apply corrections as per the
driving speed. It is not recommended to deviate too much from the
driving speed used with the manual calibration test.
Look for the most comparable fertiliser, seeds or slug pellets and
the correct settings for the selected working width in the spreading
chart.
Set the discharge point and possibly also the fine dosing handles
as described
in section »Fine application« on page 115 or section
»Discharge point« on page 110.
Enter the working width, the selected application rate, step
increments with over and under dosing and, if applicable, the
required driving speed, on the main screen as described above.
Determine the dosing setting to be tested through a manual
calibration test.
