Remove the inside filter shown in the figure.

Check that the two internal and external sponge filters are clean and efficient.

Check that the plastic support for the secondary air box is free from cracks and
deformations.

Check the integrity of the gasket.
Warning
- an impaired seal between secondary air box valve and flywheel cover may cause
an increase of noise.

Check that the sleeve connecting the secondary air to the head exhibits no cracks or
deformations. Replace them, if necessary.

Check that the metal duct is free from cracks.

Removing the Flywheel

Using the adjustable spanner, hold the flywheel
in position; see figure.
Specific tools and equipment:
Adjustable wrench

Loosen and remove the lock nut.
Warning
– Using a different adjustable wrench
could damage the stator coils.
