Using a Remote Control Device Interface
Error Messages
After the TDR7 executes the command you sent, the RCD displays the
prompt character, indicating that the command was executed.
However, if the TDR7 is not able to execute the command, the RCD
displays an error message to indicate that the command was not
executed. Common error messages are explained in the table below.

The
TDR7 was unable to
execute the requested
command. This is a summary
error, which may indicate a
hardware failure or
configuration abnormality.
Repeat the requested command. If the command
still results in an error message, check the
configuration of the unit and repeat the command.
If the
TDR7 still does not execute the command,
reset the unit and attempt the command again. If
you are unable to make the
TDR7 execute the
command, contact
Tiernan Communications
Product Support.
Format
Error
The command string was
entered with extra characters
or in an improper order. Most
commonly, an extra space was
entered after the last
mnemonic, just before the
carriage return.
Re–enter the command using the proper format.
Parameter
Error
The
TDR7 does not recognize
the parameter entered. A
numerical parameter may be
out of range or an ASCII
character string may not match
any of the available options for
the command.

chapter to ensure that you are entering a valid
parameter.
Not
Supported
The requested command does
not match any valid
TDR7
command.

Access
Denied
The command is password
protected and is not
accessible.
