Tiernan Service Procedure for Out–of–Warranty Repairs
If it is necessary to return a unit for out-of-warranty repair or
modification, the following procedures must be followed.
1.
Call Tiernan Communications Product Support to determine if the
problem can be corrected over the phone.
2.
Should it be necessary to return a unit to Tiernan for any reason,
you will be issued a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number.
You will need to provide the serial number and model number for
the unit being returned in order to receive an RMA number.
3.
If the unit is being returned for repair, please include a complete
description of the problem, the operating conditions existing
when the problem occurred, and any circumstances which may
have led to the problem. This information is essential for Tiernan
repair technicians to reproduce, diagnose, and correct the
problem.
4.
If the unit is being returned for modification, please include a
complete description of the current configuration and the desired
change(s). This information will allow a Tiernan Communications
Product Support representative to provide a formal quote.
5.
A purchase order must be received by Tiernan prior to any
out–of–warranty repair work being performed.
6.
Please reference your RMA number on all paperwork
accompanying the unit, and write it clearly on the outside of the
shipping container.
CAUTION: Observe Anti–static Procedures
When handling or shipping individual circuit card modules,
please observe anti–static procedures. Use anti–static bags for
shipment. Upon request, Tiernan can provide you with ESD
bags prior to shipment.
