Preparations before printing

4.11.1 

Using the media retainers

Use the media retainers to keep the media edges flat. This to prevent head crashes when the 
printer is operating. Follow the instructions below to use the media retainers.

Step 1: 

Verify that the media is loaded properly.

Refer to 

Loading media on page 61

Step 2: 

Open the front cover.

Step 3: 

Attach the media retainers to the print platform.

Step 4: 

At the bottom side of the print platform, fix the media retainer with the spring to the 
bracket.

Be sure to read and understand the safety warnings before handling the printer.
