Depending on print volume and media

Cleaning the ionization bar

As you know, the Zephyr is equipped with an ionization bar. The ionization bar shoots a 
balanced stream of positive and negative ions onto the rigids’ surface to neutralize its static 
charge, safeguarding ESD-sensitive materials. 
During rigid printing routines, especially at the highest head heights, ink mist may be 
generated. This mist will accumulate on the bottom of the ionization bar which will result in a 
lower efficiency of the bar. If the bar is not working properly, it might happen that not all static 
electricity is neutralized, which could lead to inferior output quality (as shown on the picture 
below)

To avoid this phenomenon, it is necessary to frequently check with a mirror if the ionization 
bar is dirty.

Follow the procedure below when noticing ink mist on the bottom of the ionization bar.
