Armature Surge Testing
Surge testing uses the ADX ARM SRG fixture or the hand-held probes as shown in the second image below. These
accessories are plugged into the ARMATURE receptacle on the back of the ADX.
1. Remove the RLC low-voltage lead set from their receptacles and store in their backpack or a clean place.
2. Ensure that the selected accessory is properly connected to the ARMATURE receptacle on the back of the ADX.
3. When testing the armature bars, ensure that all probes properly contact their bars.
4. If using the ADX ARM SRG adapter, ensure that the activator buttons connector is properly attached to the
FOOTSWITCH receptacle on the back of the ADX.
5. If using the hand-held probes, a footswitch should be used to activate testing. Plug the footswitch connector into
the FOOTSWITCH receptacle on the back of the ADX.
6. Hold the test accessory contacts in place for 10–15 pulses to obtain a stable waveform.
