Automatic Surge Test
During automatic Surge test, you can use the scale features to adjust the waveform display as needed. The test will
run based on the parameters defined in the test configuration currently assigned to the selected asset. For example, if
PD testing is disabled within the test configuration, none of the PD elements will appear within the Surge test screen.
However, you can enable PD testing here manually if needed.
In this example, PD is disabled in the test configuration and all three test leads have been selected (turned on) for Surge
testing.
1. You can press START to continue testing as configured, or you can select the Leads (phases) that you want to test.
The indicator light next to each LEAD button appears in bright green when the associated lead has been selected.
2. Press the START button to initiate testing.
After pressing the START button, voltage is applied to the test leads automatically by the ADX.
The LEADS ENERGIZED indicator in the top right corner flashes until the leads have properly discharged. LEDs on the
ADX front panel also light to indicate which leads are energized.
As each phase is being tested, its green indicator light remains on. When a lead (phase) test has completed, its
indicator light will turn off.
