11. When you return to the Surge Test screen, a message appears to alert you that Zero Start Override has been enabled
for the active test configuration when that box is checked.
WARNING: When Zero Start Override is enabled, the full target voltage will be applied to the
test lead when the PTT button is pressed. Follow all safety precautions to prevent severe
injury from electrical shock.

12. Press OK to close the dialog then you will be ready to start testing using the newly-assigned references.
Assets that are identical to the known-good asset used to create the references can then be created by copying and
renaming the asset, and re-using the same test configuration as the active configuration.
Editing the Test Configuration to Use In-session References
Assigning references to the active test configuration can restrict how the configuration can be applied; assets under
test essentially need to be identical to the source of the reference to yield reliable accurate results.
This process describes how to use test references for your immediate testing session, without assigning the references
to the active test configuration. That way, all other parameters in the test configuration can be re-used, and practical
relevant references can be used for the assets being testing during the session.
This process is particularly useful during coil or armature testing. Test references are saved by the ADX, but they are not
assigned to the active test configuration.
1. Press the Edit test configuration icon at the top of the Surge Test screen to open the active test configuration for
your selected asset.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the test configuration screen to find the Surge section.
3. Check the Lead boxes to enable them for testing you specific asset type.
