Key Concepts
ASSET
—Most commonly, an asset is a motor, transformer, or generator.
INSTALLATION
—Most commonly, an installation is a machine, a piece of equipment driven by an asset. It
is the specific entity to which the asset is coupled. Common examples include a specific machine (such as a
pump or compressor) located somewhere within a building, or a storage location such as a specific bin on a
warehouse rack.
ASSETS
and
INSTALLATIONS
can be assigned
attributes
that help describe each entity.
ATTRIBUTES
provide the power behind search features found in the ADX application, along with expanding
data collection, mining, and analysis using optional PowerDB Pro. Some examples of asset attributes include
motor color, usage, and status. A few examples of installation attributes include location elements such as
plant, building, city, section, and more.
ASSETS and INSTALLATIONS are separate entities.
Over time, an Installation (such as a specific mill,
shredder, pump, and more) can have multiple Assets (motors) installed and removed. Separating these entities
offers a broad range of data collection and analysis opportunities.
SEQUENCES
are the structure that defines which tests types will be included in the testing process, along
with the order in which they are executed. Sequences also define the process flow following a test failure.
Sequences are selected from a standard list and assigned to Assets when they will be tested using Sequence
mode.
NOTE:
Sequences are created and managed by Megger Baker Instruments. A standard set is included
with the ADX. If you need additional, custom, or modified sequences to better fit your organization’s
needs, please contact Megger Baker Instruments for assistance.
