Manual DC Test
NOTE: The examples in this section follow the best practice of selecting an asset with an active test
configuration. However, selecting as asset is not required. The process and functionality are alike in most
aspects. For more information on using Manual Mode screens without selecting an asset, refer to “” on
page 76.
Use this screen to manually execute IR/DA/PI, and standard, ramp, or step HiPot tests.
Icons at top right include an E-stop indicator, edit test configuration, current output device selected, save, help, and exit
the screen.
Before running any test, you should select the asset that you want to test. See “Selecting an Asset to Test” earlier in
this chapter. The default values for some test parameters are defined by the active test configuration of the selected
asset. However, because this is manual mode, you control much of the functionality directly by selections made here.
From this screen, you can make the following adjustments if needed:
Select whether Current and/or Megohms will appear in the test results display.
Set the Ramp Rate using the slider to provide a slower or faster ramp rate.
Temperature Compensation controls help you select insulation material type, and define the actual temperature
and correct to values so measurements are properly adjusted based on your conditions.
Control the execution of all DC tests.
Fields at the bottom display time remaining in the selected test, and results as each test is conducted. Corresponding
fields at the top of the graph display numerical values measured during each test increment.
The field in the lower left corner identifies which test is running, and how much time remains for the test.
NOTE: Use the E-STOP button on the lower right of the ADX front panel to stop the test and quickly de-
energize the high-voltage leads if needed.

1. After selecting your test options and values, press the START button.
2. Turn the Voltage Output Ramp Switch on the ADX front panel (top right) clockwise to increase to the target voltage
level for the asset. If you overshoot the target level, turn the Voltage Output Ramp switch counter-clockwise.
