Labels
Each Fader Strip and Smart Panel controller has a 4-character
user Label.
On control channels such as a VCA or Smart Fader VCA, the
Label can be used to name the channel – e.g. Band, Vox, etc.
On input channels, the Label shows:
•
The name of the source patched to the channel (e.g.
Lead
)
•
Or, if the channel is not patched, the channel name (e.g.
IN1
).
Similarly on output channels, the Label shows:
•
The name of the destination patched from the channel
(e.g.
SPKL
).
•
Or, if the bus is not patched, the channel name (e.g.
MST
)
Note that once a source is patched to an input channel, or a
destination patched from a mix bus, the user Label will
always
show the name of the source or destination. Therefore, for most
applications it makes sense to label your physical sources and
destinations rather than input/output channels.
Labels are also shown on the Main Mix display, along with
additional naming information. In our example:
•
LEAD
– this is the 4-character user label for the source.
•
STAGE L MIC19
- this is a 16-character user alias
which accompanies the source label. You can use this
to add additional information about the source.
•
CORE1 C3 ANALOG INPUT
– this is the system
description of the source.
Our example indicates that the
input is connected to DioCore 1, card slot C, input 3 and
that the input is analogue.
If the selected channel is not yet patched, then the Main Mix
display shows
NO PATCH
