Input Channels
Signal Flow
The console’s DSP supports 104 mono input channel paths:
Each Input channel provides:
•
Analogue input control (preamp gain and 48V)
•
Digital input control (digital gain trim and phase reverse)
•
A Low Cut Filter
•
Dynamics (independent Gate and Compressor)
•
Delay – assignable from a pool of 48 delay resources.
•
Parametric EQ (4-band)
•
Pre-fader Insert (external device or internal effects bay)
•
Pan
•
Main level, Mute and Cue
•
Aux Send Level (pre-fader, post-fader or independent)
•
Matrix Send Level (post-fader)
Mono, Stereo and Multi-Channel Inputs
To create stereo or multi-channel input channels you can either
link channels or use Smart Faders (SFADs) to control a number
of “layered” input channels from a single fader.
Linking works by linking different elements of a set of channels.
For example, if you want to have two Fader Strips for a stereo
source with independent left/right fader control but linked
processing.
Smart Faders are best if you need to deal with lots of “layered”
inputs. For example, in a large show where you have more than
48 input sources.
For now, we are going to concentrate on an input channel
which is patched directly from a mono source. You can find
more details on Smart Fader Inputs and Linking channels on
Pages 124 and 326.
