Configuration Roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1.
Configure GE 1/0/1 on NPE1 and GE 1/0/1 on NPE2 to work in user termination mode.
2.
Configure basic functions for QinQ termination sub-interfaces on NPE1 and NPE2 to
ensure IP connectivity.
3.
Configure multiple VRRP backup groups on the QinQ termination sub-interfaces on each
NPE to determine the active and standby states for links.
4.
Specify a VRRP backup group as an mVRRP backup group on a QinQ termination sub-
interface on each NPE and bind the mVRRP backup group to service VRRP backup groups.
This configuration allows the mVRRP backup group to determine the master or backup
state for sub-interfaces in service VRRP backup groups.
5.
Configure a peer BFD session between NPEs to monitor the remote link between NPE1
and NPE2; configure a link BFD session between each NPE and each CE to monitor the
link between them.
6.
Configure the mVRRP backup group to rapidly implement a master/backup VRRP
switchover with the help of BFD sampling if two or more link BFD sessions tracked by the
mVRRP backup group go Down.
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
l
PE-VID, CE-VID, and IP address for each QinQ termination sub-interface on each NPE
(For details, see configuration files.)
l
VRIDs and virtual IP addresses for VRRP backup groups on each NPE (10.1.1.1 for backup
group 10, 10.100.1.200 for backup group 100, 10.101.1.200 for backup group 101,
10.102.1.200 for backup group 102, and 10.103.1.200 for backup group 103, among which
backup group 10 is an mVRRP backup group and others are service VRRP backup groups)
l
Peer BFD session parameters on each NPE (peer IP address of 10.1.1.253, outbound
interface of GE 1/0/1.1, and source IP address of 10.1.1.254 on NPE1; peer IP address of
10.1.1.254, outbound interface of GE 1/0/1.1, and source IP address of 10.1.1.253 on NPE2)
l
Parameters of a link BFD between each NPE and each CE, including the peer IP address,
outbound interface name, and source IP address (For details, see configuration files.)
Procedure
Step 1
Configure an Eth-Trunk interface on NPEs.
NOTE
The following example provides only the configuration procedure on each NPE. For the procedure for
configuring a link BFD session on each CE, see the chapter "BFD Configuration" in the
