Backup Between Two CGN Devices
When two CGN devices are deployed, service boards on the CGN devices can form an HA
backup group. Data on the active service board is synchronized to the standby service board.
When the active service board fails, the standby service board takes over the services. When the
active CGN device or the link connected to the active device fails, the standby CGN device takes
over the services. Services are not interrupted during the switchover, and users do not know the
fault.
NOTE
VRRP determines the active/standby status of members in an HA backup group between two CGN devices.
As shown in the following figure, HA backup is configured between CPU0s on two service
boards of two CGN devices.
