traffic
switchover.
Route
After a master/backup VRRP switchover is
performed, the interface connected to the original
active link retains the original network segment
route and host route. Association between the VRRP
backup group and the route allows a device to
withdraw the original network segment route and
host route, preventing network-to-user traffic from
traveling through the faulty link.
VRRP6
VRRP for IPv6 (VRRP6), a fault-tolerant protocol, is an extension to the VRRP protocol. VRRP6
groups multiple physical routers to a virtual router. The virtual router switches traffic to another
physical router if a physical router that is a default gateway of hosts fails, providing continuous
and reliable communication services.
