11.10.2 Example for Configuring User Information Backup in
Exclusive IP Address Pool Mode
This section provides a configuration example of user information backup in exclusive address
pool mode. A networking diagram is provided to demonstrate the configuration procedure. The
configuration example includes networking requirements, configuration roadmap, configuration
procedure, and configuration files.
Networking Requirements
NOTE
The X1 and X2 models of the NE80E/40E do not support the RUI protocol and therefore do not back up
BRAS user information.
As shown in
, users are connected to Router A and Router B through the LAN switch
(LSW). The two NE80E/40Es are master and slave NE80E/40Es through VRRP. The basic user
access functions are configured on Router A and Router B so that users can log in through the
master device. When the master device fails or the network-side or user-side link of the master
device fails, services need to be fast switched to the slave device.
The exclusive IP address pool is deployed. That is, each RBP on Router A and Router B is bound
to an IP address pool respectively. The network-side traffic is sent back through the advertised
network-side route. If the statuses of Router A and Router B change, the network-side route of
Router A is withdrawn. Then, Router B advertises the network-side route.
