Siderail frame Test the siderail for proper latching.
Pivot points Lubricate all pivot points on the bed.
CPR release Test the CPR release for proper operation and reset of the head
screw drive.
Adjust the CPR release if necessary (see “CPR Release Handle”
on page 4-79).
Night light Check the night light to ensure that it functions properly.
If required, adjust the sensitivity with a screwdriver at the right
side foot end of the retracting frame assembly.
Central brake and steer Test the brake casters to determine if the bed moves when you
activate the brake mode.
Test the steer mode to determine if the foot end casters lock in the
steer mode.
Caster tires Check the tires for cuts, wear, tread life, etc.
Power cord and plug Inspect the power cord and plug for cuts, nicks, or breaks.
Head and foot panels Check the aesthetics.
Overall appearance Check the general aesthetics of the bed.
Touch up the paint where necessary.
Inspect the labels, and replace as necessary.
Electrical test Test the bed for electrical leakage.
Ground resistance must be less than 0.20 ohms.
Leakage current must be less than 65 microamps for 115 volt
models, and less than 90 micro amps for 230 volt models.
Footboard control panel Test all the bed function switches in the nurse control panel for
proper operation of the function and momentary operation.
Test all of the lockout switches individually for proper operation.
LED indicators Check all of the LEDs on the footboard to ensure proper opera-
tion.
Bed scale Check the accuracy of the bed scale with different weights.
Test for proper operation of the scale functions and adjustments.
ZoneAire® Sleep
Surface Check the mattress and air bladders for punctures, cuts, or tears.
Inspect the air compressor unit.
Check all of the hose connections (to the mattress and inside the
mattress) and O-ring to prevent air leaks.
Check each zone for function.
Check all switches and the CPR release.
