Excalibur ISX 5312/5314 T-1 Multiplexer Installation and Operation

During software downloading, data continues to flow through the unit until the unit is
rebooted to activate the new software.  A Windows-based software download package
can be accessed from the Milgo Home Page on the Internet.

CMS T7 Compatibility

For networks that require comprehensive management, testing, and control features, the
Excalibur ISX 5312/5314 can operate with a CMS 400 T7 manager.  The CMS 400
provides the following capabilities:

• ESF Diagnostic Monitoring - allows you to monitor the T-1 circuit's performance.

Error statistics displayed include the following:  percentage of line availability,
ES, CSS, LOFC, CRC, BPV, FBE, COFA, SES, BES, severely errored framing
event, frame synchronization bit error, line code violation event, and Payload
Loopback activated.  Error statistics are displayed for the current 15-minute
interval and for the past 24 hours in ninety-six 15-minute intervals.

• Database management - provides you with a complete record of your network's

structure, including all sites, components, and channels.  A network map display is
available as a visual aid when troubleshooting large networks.

• Event files - keep a record of all significant network events (alarms, tests, etc.).

• Network management reports - consolidate network status information so that you

can analyze your network's overall performance.  Reports can be generated on
every major database item.

• Network diagnostics - scan all CMS-compatible components in the network,

reporting any irregular conditions.  Tests can be run on any network component
from the central site console.  Alarms can be received from anywhere in the
network.

• Serial number reporting - assists in inventory and identification of network

ISX 5312/5314s.  Each ISX 5312/5314 is assigned a serial number, which is
reported to the system upon request.

• EIA Lead Status Monitoring - allows you to scan the status of the DTE control

leads.

Integral SNMP Agent

For networks that require comprehensive management, testing, and control features, the
ISX 5312/5314’s integral MIB-II-compliant SNMP agent provides a standards-based
management interface.  It allows you to manage your complete network via SNMP from
a CMS 400 or generic SNMP manager.
