Resetting the MODEM!

 - The modem is being reset.  This is the first step in getting

a modem ready for communication.  If this message stays on the screen for more
than a couple of seconds, the ISX 5312/5314 is having trouble talking to the
modem.

•

Setting up the MODEM!

 - The modem is being setup.  This is the second step in

getting a modem ready for communication.  If this message stays on the screen for
more than a couple of seconds, the ISX 5312/5314 is having trouble talking to the
modem.

•

Dialing MODEM.

 - The modem is trying to dial and connect to another modem.

•

Answering a ring!

 - The ISX 5312/5314 is in the process of answering an incoming

call.

•

Sending Unit ID.

 - The ISX 5312/5314 is sending its ID to the CMS 400 over the

modem connection.

•

MODEM Connected. (Esc)

 - The modem connection has been established with the

CMS 400.  T7 messages can now be sent and received.

•

Hanging up the MODEM!

 - The ISX 5312/5314 is telling the modem to hang up.

Modem couldn’t be Reset!

 - The first step in getting the modem ready for

communication could not be done.  Possible causes are the modem is not powered
up, it is not Hayes compatible, or it is not physically connected to the ISX
5312/5314.

Modem couldn’t be Setup!

 - The second step in getting the modem ready for

communication could not be done.  Possible causes are the modem is losing
power, the modem cable is disconnected, the modem does not match the modem
type selected in the Modem Configuration submenu, or an incorrect setup string
was entered for a generic modem.

•

No dial string available.

 - The ISX 5312/5314 tried to dial the modem, but the

telephone number was empty.

•

No MODEM is attached!

 - The Type parameter in the Modem Configuration

submenu is set to None.

•

Could not connect MODEM!  Error in Dial String?

 - The ISX 5312/5314 sent the

telephone number to the modem.  The modem was not able to dial due to a
problem with the telephone number.
