The possible displays are:

•

MODEM Connected.

 - The modem connection has been established with the

CMS 400.  T7 messages can now be sent and received.

•

Resetting the MODEM.

 - The modem is being reset.  This is the first step in

getting a modem ready for communication.  If this message stays on the
screen for more than a couple of seconds, the ISX 5312/5314 is having
trouble talking to the modem.

•

Setting up the MODEM.

 - The modem is being set up.  This is the second

step in getting a modem ready for communication.  If this message stays on
the screen for more than a couple of seconds, the ISX 5312/5314 is having
trouble talking to the modem.

•

MODEM is Ready.

 - The modem has been set up and is ready to be dialed or

to answer a call.

•

Dialing MODEM.

 - The modem is trying to dial and connect to another

modem.

•

Answering a ring.

 - The ISX 5312/5314 is in the process of answering an

incoming call.

•

Sending Unit ID.

 - The ISX 5312/5314 is sending its ID to the CMS 400

over the modem connection.

•

****************

 - Unknown status.  Usually indicates there is no modem

attached.

•

Modem couldn’t be Reset!

 - The first step in getting the modem ready for

communication could not be done.  Possible causes are the modem is not
powered up, it is not Hayes compatible, or it is not physically connected to
the ISX 5312/5314.
