If the screen displays
SECURE=ON
, then the password feature is
enabled.
To enable the password feature, enter SET SECURE ON at the
console prompt.

Setting a New
Password
Use this procedure to set a new password.
1.
Log in to access the privileged functions.
2.
Enter console mode. The console prompt (>>>) appears.
3.
Enter SET PASSWORD at the console prompt:
>>> SET PASSWORD

The prompt PSWD0 >>> appears.
4.
Enter your old password. The password must be exactly 16
hexadecimal characters (0 through F):
PSWD0 >>> ENTER_OLD_PASSWORD

The prompt PSWD1 >>> appears.
5.
Enter your new password.
PSWD1 >>> ENTER_NEW_PASSWORD
Return
6.
Enter your new password again. The prompt PSWD2 >>>
appears to verify that you entered the password correctly.
PSWD2 >>> ENTER_NEW_PASSWORD
Return
7.
If the two entries match, then the new password is in
nonvolatile memory.
Entering the
Privileged State
To enter the privileged state on a secured console, enter LOGIN
at the console prompt.
>>> LOGIN
